A total of 24 Covid-19 positive travelers when caught in a police lockdown

Suara.com – A total of 24 travelers tested positive for Covid-19 after officers carried out a rapid random antigen test at a number of posts blocking the Eid homecoming ban ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah.

Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Pol Argo Yuwono, said the 24 people were caught out of 3,250 travelers who were tested for Covid-19.

“Of the 3,250 rapid tests conducted on travelers, 24 tested positive. Meanwhile 3,226 were negative,” said Argo in his statement on Sunday (16/5/2021).

Then, the number of vehicles that were turned back from the insulation results in 22 points on toll roads, 147 points on non-toll roads and 212 on alternative routes, 36,468 vehicles were turned back because they were observed wanting to go home.

“The total number of vehicles being inspected was 50,315 units. 36,468 of them were turned around because they did not have predetermined requirements,” he said.

The tens of thousands of vehicles consist of 16,607 units including two wheels, 16,388 units of four wheels, 284 units of two-wheeled passengers and 3,189 units of goods vehicles.

Argo added that the National Police also conducted surveillance in a number of tourist locations in Jakarta such as Ancol, TMII, Ragunan, to minimize the spike in the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
