The test participants consisting of children received the number of injections of a lower dose than the dose for adults.

This is done, because children tend to develop an antibody response that is comparable in number to people aged 16 to 25 years.

This is because children tend to respond better to vaccines, and the side effects are similar to those in older age groups.

For your information, currently the FDA has only allowed Pfizer and BioNTech vaccines to be given at the age of 16 years and over, and has granted an emergency use authorization (EUA) for children aged 12 to 15 years.

Pfizer is the only COVID-19 vaccine in the US that is given to children 18 and under.
